Jon & Joanne Goldstein, Proprietors

Jon is a native Californian and Joanne grew up in Chicago. Our love of wine was a central theme of our courtship, which included many trips to the Napa Valley. We soon discovered that we could explore other parts of the world one bottle at a time. Over the years, we have never tired of tasting, learning, and reconnecting in this way. Our vineyard is a place where our friends and family join us to celebrate. And winegrowing is our way to express our profound respect for the natural bounty of Spring Mountain.

Joseph Filippini, General Manager

Joe grew up on a working cattle ranch in the High Sierras of California and studied English Literature at the University of California, Davis. He was the founding manager of Entre Nous Wines in Oakville and has directed sales and marketing efforts at Terra Valentine and Foretell wineries. Joe currently lives in Oakville on a small vineyard with his wife and three children.

Aaron Pott, Winemaker

Aaron received his undergraduate degree in Enology at the University of California, Davis, and his master’s degree in Viticulture, Wine, and Terroir from the Université de Bourgogne. In Bordeaux, he was winemaker at Château Troplong Mondot and director of Château La Tour Figeac. In California, he has made wine at Quintessa, Newton Vineyard, St. Clement, and Beringer Wine Estates. His mentors include John Kongsgaard and Michel Rolland.

Eric Hagyard, Assistant Winemaker

Eric studied mathematics at Williams College. This has come in handy in the cellar, where he collects and crunches data. After a dalliance in wine retail, Eric apprenticed at Crushpad in San Francisco and at Brennan in Central Otago, New Zealand. Working with Aaron, Eric practices a low-intervention technique that is dictated by the vineyard. “Fe has been a stunner since day one,” he says. “It is a magical place, a beautiful site.”

Justin Leigon, Viticulturist

Justin, pictured here with Jose Luis Hernandez and Jason Donoho of Pina Vineyard Management, began his training at legendary wineries such as Colgin Cellars and mastered the art of fermentation in Australia before transitioning from the cellar to the vineyard. He received his degree in Viticulture and Enology from the University of California, Davis, and serves as a committee member for Napa Valley Grapegrowers. “There is an aspect at Fe of being enveloped by the nature of the area,” Justin remarks. “It has a strong sense of place.”
